Oct. 8 – Fox Hunt

In the world of amateur radio, planned transmitter hunts are known as fox hunts, bunny hunts, and radio sport. We combine radio direction finding with a fun group challenge. Learn more here:  wikipedia.org/wiki/Transmitter_hunting

PAARC begins our fox hunts at the Pottsgrove Middle School on 1351 N. Hanover St., Pottstown 19464 N 40 deg., 16.27 min, W 75 deg. 38.15 min.

Sept. 2 – Attic Antennas with Rick Rhoads, W3ALG

Join us for our monthly meeting at 7:00 pm on Friday, Sept. 2nd meeting* at St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Rd., Limerick, PA. The topic is attic antennas with Rick Rhoads, W3ALG. All are invited. Refreshments will be served. Masks are recommended for indoor events, but are optional.

Sept 24 – Reading Radio Special Event Station W3BN

The Reading Radio Club will celebrate their 100th anniversary with their W3BN Special Event station on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. There will be a beautiful keepsake certificate to commemorate your QSO with them. Details to come. 

As part of this celebration, VHF operators will activate the Reading Pagoda between 1 pm and 2 pm on simplex frequency 146.550 MHz to give local hams an opportunity to get on the log.  More to come!

August 14  MARC Hamfest at the Kimberton Fire Co. Fairgrounds
The Mid-Atlantic Amateur Radio Club presents their Valley Forge Hamfest on a new date, Sunday August 14.

  • Opens at 8 am, vendors at 7 am. $10 entrance per ham; unlicensed family members are free.
  • PAARC will have a table (or two if needed) for member equipment sales.
  • Tailgate space for $10. Indoor tables are $10.
  • VE test at 10 am sharp. Pre-register with K3ITH@arrl.net. Indoor and outdoor, rain or shine. Lots of door prizes.

August 5 – Club Meets on Zoom at 7 pm

We’ll meet on Zoom or the August 5th club meeting at 7:00 pm. We’ll discuss upcoming hamfests and the club’s member tables at the MARC Hamfest sat the Kimberton Fire Company grounds on 8/14.  Contact the secretary for credentials.
