PA QSO Party – Oct. 8 & 9

Join PAARC members in participating in another fun PA QSO Party for 2016!  Pennsylvania Amateurs will try to contact as many other amateurs in Pennsylvania, the United States, Canada and the world in this two day contest. Some forty-five plaques will be awarded for multiple categories of operation. This event is sponsored by the Nittany Amateur Radio Club (NARC). Foxhunt – Aug. 27

The next PAARC foxhunt will be on Sat., Aug. 27, at 9:30 am. Jim/K3CHJ will be the fox. Fox Hunt calling frequency: 147.510 FM.

The start will be at the Pottsgrove Middle School on 1351 N. Hanover St., Pottstown 19464. N 40 deg., 16.27 min, W 75 deg., 38.15 min.  If anyone needs to borrow equipment contact Jim K3CHJ. He has a log periodic antenna, passive and active attenuators, a boat anchor 2M radio with an analog S meter plus a PennDot map.

PAARC at the 2016 Montgomery County 4H Fair
On August 12 and 13, the Pottstown Area Amateur Radio Club operated and did demos of  amateur radio for the public. This was our third year at the fair. Thanks go to Wes N3HWH who got the club involved back in 2014.  It is a wonderful opportunity to show off to the public what amateur radio has to offer to individuals and to their communities.  (more…)

Fly-in Breakfast – Sept. 11

PAARC will be operating from the Fly-in Breakfast on Sunday, Sept. 11, from 8 am to 12 noon at Heritage Field airport in Limerick. Parking is free. Pancakes, eggs, ham, juice and coffee for $8 per adult, $5 for kids. Antique, modern, experimental and war planes on display, plus a car show.  Airplane and helicopter rides.
