PAARC’s remaining 2018 Amateur Radio license test sessions are Fri., Nov. 2nd at 5:00 pm, and Fri., Dec. 14th at 5:00 pm at St. James Lutheran Church, Limerick PA.
Go for your Amateur Radio license or try for an upgrade. Pre-register by sending a request to

What to Bring to an Exam Session
– Two forms of ID, or 1 photo ID
– Test fee of $15.00
– If upgrading, your current license and a copy (we cannot make copies at the session), and any current valid CSCE’s (original and one copy)
– Two or more pencils
– Calculator, if desired
All test sessions administered by examiners accredited by the ARRL.

Due to anticipated rain, the PAOP Fly-In Breakfast has been postponed to Sunday, Sept. 16. The location is Heritage Field, in Limerick, PA. Welcome ARRL EPA New Section Manager, George Miller, W3GWM of Wyalusing who will become the new ARRL EPA Section Manager on October 1, 2018 filling an 18-month term of office. Miller, has been the past Section Traffic Manager. Bob Wiseman, WB3W, who has been the Eastern Pennsylvania Section Manager since October 2016, decided not to run for a new term, but he continued serving as SM for an additional 6 months after his regular term had concluded at the end of March. We look forward to working with George to further the impact of Amateur Radio in the region.

Club members and friends are welcome to join us for our annual ice cream social on Friday, Aug. 3, at 7:00 pm. Enjoy a fun eyeball QSO with friends and a sundae bar plus root beer floats. Bring a home brew project to show off and share. Monthly presentations and VE test sessions resume on first Fridays beginning Sept. 7th.

Education Alliance for Amateur Radio is offering a free D-Star training class on July 8th 2018 from 10 am – 2 pm at the Upper Pottstgrove Township Office 1409 Farmington Ave, Pottstown, PA 19464. The topics that will be covered are D-Star basics, using android apps with D-Star, and an intro to DRATS. Light refreshments will be served. The class is free of charge. This is a hands on class so bring your D-star radio, laptop and or android tablet or device. Programming assistance will be available as well.
