MARC Kimberton Hamfest – July 8

The 2017 MARC Hamfest will be held on Saturday July 8th at the Kimberton Fire Company grounds, Route 113 (742 Pike Springs Road) south of the intersection with Route 23 in Kimberton, PA. Doors open for sellers at 0700 and for buyers at 0800.  Admission is still only $6 which it has been for decades and entitles you to a door prize ticket. The MARC Hamfest announcement can be downloaded by clicking here. The maps show that Kimberton is northwest of King of Prussia and just west of Phoenixville, PA. Talk-in is available on the MARC linked repeater systems with coverage to the north and west and near Kimberton provided by 145.13 MHz PL 131.8 repeater in Paoli PA and to the south and east by 147.06 MHZ PL 131.8 repeater in Newtown Square PA.

PAARC Picnic – July 7, 6:30 pm

Hot Dogs & Hams Summer Social

On Friday, July 7th, 2017 at 6:30 pm, instead of the usual monthly meeting presentation, come hungry to the annual club picnic! We’ll dine in the air-conditioned comfort of our large meetinghot dog antenna room at St. James Lutheran Church in Limerick, PA. Outdoor seating available, weather permitting.  Enjoy a buffet style feast with hot dogs and other entrees,  Ed/K3BVQ’s beans, baked potato bar, salads, watermelon, desserts, prize drawings, and as always, outstanding company!

$10 per person – Dinner with beverages and desserts

Fox Hunt – July 1

The next fox (transmitter) hunt will be on Sat., July 1, starting at 10 am. We begin at the Pottsgrove Middle School on 1351 N. Hanover St., Pottstown 19464 N 40 deg., 16.27 min, W 75 deg. 38.15 min. Learn more on the fox hunting webpage.  Jim, K3CHJ will be the fox. If anyone needs to borrow equipment contact Jim: k3chj at arrl.net. He has a log periodic antenna, passive & active attenuators, a boat anchor 2m radio with an analog s meter plus a PennDOT map. We’ll also have a 440 mhz “pedestrian” fox to find at the finish. Amateur Radio Field Day Demonstrates Science, Skill, and Service

This event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. More than 35,000 radio amateurs will gather with their clubs, groups or simply with friends to operate from remote locations.

Bob Josuweit/WA3PZO is asking for net control operators for WM3PEN (Philadelphia Special Event Station).  Any mode is appreciated. Please respond to Bill/W3FRB at w3frb at comcast dot net. Bill will relay the net control information for PAARC.
