Here is what to expect for PAARC Field Day on Saturday, 22nd and Sunday, June 23rd:PAARC field day

SATURDAY:  Radio operators, and anyone else who wants to attend, can join us for a 9:00 am breakfast at The Ridge Restaurant, 960 Ridge Rd. (Route 23, just east of where Route 100 intersects in Bucktown). Then the operators will head to Welikinweir to set up their stations. Directions to Welkinweir: https://welkinweir.org/visitors.html

Our Field Day kick off is at 2:00 pm. We are 4A – EPA, with 4 stations using the callsign W3U, plus a GOTA (Get On The Air) station with the callsign of K3ZMC. We’ll use the N3JFP logging program, already pre-loaded on station computers. Check out the photos on the PAARC Field Day webpage to get an idea of what the setup looks like.  We’ll have loads of snacks, water-coffee-ice tea, and will griddle up some dinner at 6 pm or so.

SUNDAY:  Breakfast is at ~8:00 am. We operate until noon and then pack up.

Suggestions: bring a cusion (benches are wood). When not operating a comfy camp chair is nice to have. If you want to bring your own food or beverge, that’s fine. No alcoholic drinks, though.

Rules: No alcoholic beverages – No shooting – No fires of any kind

Other: There is a wedding on Saturday at the Welkinweir estate house, so for easy parking it is best to at arrive mid-day than at night.

See you there!
